In a bold move that underscores the power of collaboration in grassroots development, the Omo Alausa Foundation has partnered with a coalition of reputable non-governmental organisations to deliver a wide-ranging free medical, dental, eye and health education outreach to residents of Epe, Badagry and selected Lagos schools in January 2026.

The initiative, driven by the Dr. Ferguson Team in collaboration with Green Fountain Dental Clinics, Restore Foundation for Child Sight and Brainy Educate Services, is scheduled to run from January 4 to 12, 2026, with activities taking place at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Epe and Badagry.

Designed to bridge critical healthcare and knowledge gaps, the outreach will combine medical education lectures with hands-on dental services and comprehensive eye care, offering much-needed relief to underserved communities while promoting preventive health practices.

The medical outreach program will commence on January 4 with Lagos Central tours, followed by two days of activities at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on January 5 and 6. The team will then travel to Epe on January 7, where medical services will be provided on January 8 and 9. On January 10, the outreach will move on to Badagry, with comprehensive medical services scheduled to take place on January 11 and 12.

Speaking on the significance of the programme, organisers noted that the collaboration has been instrumental in widening the reach and impact of the initiative, particularly across riverine and border communities in Epe (between 8-9th January 2025 at Epe Recreation Center by 9 am daily) and Badagry where access to quality healthcare needs expansion.

The programme has also attracted strong institutional support, with Eko Club International (Ohio Chapter), Epe Local Government Area and Badagry Local Government Area listed among key supporters, further strengthening community ownership and sustainability of the intervention.

A major highlight of the outreach will be the Youth Health Awareness Days scheduled for January 5 and 6 at LUTH, running daily from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The sessions will bring together invited secondary school teachers and students from Mushin and Surulere for interactive seminars and workshops tailored to young people’s health needs.

Topics to be covered include mental health awareness, diabetes and hypertension, adolescent sexual health, malaria prevention, vision screening and practical workshops aimed at equipping both students and educators with life-saving knowledge.

Stakeholders believe the partnership-driven outreach will not only deliver immediate health benefits but also leave a lasting impact by raising a more informed, health-conscious generation across Epe, Badagry and Lagos schools, reinforcing the Omo Alausa Foundation’s growing reputation as a catalyst for people-centred development through strategic collaboration.
