Kakalistiq.com reports that residents of Eyindi, Ajagannabe, and Lagos Road in Ward A5 and A2 neighborhoods of Epe woke up to an unexpected act of kindness on Monday, February 26th, 2024. Hon. Olusegun Agbaje, a respected political leader and Commissioner of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), spearheaded a compassionate initiative aimed at alleviating the economic strain faced by citizens.
Under the initiative, free food was provided to residents, particularly the elderly, at popular food canteens in the neighborhoods. The gesture not only surprised the beneficiaries but also drew a significant turnout as people flocked to benefit from the generosity of the facilitator.
The renowned philanthropist emphasized the importance of leading by example to support the initiatives of the Lagos State Government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwoolu and Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, in mitigating the suffering of the people. He assured that the initiative, which primarily targets the elderly and needy, will be extended across neighborhoods in Epe Local Government and will continue as long as he can sustain the cost.
“I believe it’s important to stand in solidarity with our community, especially during times of hardship. This initiative is a small step towards easing the burden on our fellow citizens, particularly the vulnerable members of our society. By towing the path of the Lagos State Government, we can make a tangible difference in people’s lives. This is just the beginning, and I’m committed to ensuring that this support continues for as long as it’s needed,” he said
Hon. Olusegun Agbaje’s surprise food initiative in Epe neighborhoods, greatly appreciated by beneficiaries with fervent prayers, has not only provided immediate relief but also showcased the power of community solidarity in times of hardship. With plans for ongoing support for the Lagos State Government, the initiative promises to be a glimmer of hope for those facing economic challenges in the local government.
