“A King of Peace Has Fallen”: Oluomo of Epe Pays Emotional Tribute to Late Olu-Epe, Visits Family.

kakalistiq.com reports that the Oluomo of Epe Land and Commissioner III of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, Otunba Dr. Olusegun Agbaje, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late monarch of Epe Kingdom, Oba Dr. Shefiu Adewale Bamgbopa Eshilokun I, describing him as a symbol of peace and unity.

The revered royal passed away on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, in Lagos, leaving a deep void in the hearts of many across the Epe community and beyond.

During a condolence visit to the late monarch’s widow, Olori Alhaja Aribike Adewale, Dr. Agbaje recalled the late king’s legacy with emotion, calling him a “good man,” a “peacemaker,” and a “regal icon who led with wisdom, love, and calm.”

“One key thing about him is that he was a man of peace,” Agbaje said. “He preached peace, lived peace, and inspired peace. Even when others saw problems, he saw opportunities for solutions. That’s the kind of king he was, always calm, always guiding, always building.”

He noted that the late king’s passing came as a shock to the entire Epe community, who had hoped to continue benefitting from his leadership and noble influence. “Nobody wanted him to leave us so soon because of the good he brought into our lives,” he added.

Dr. Agbaje who also joined the Fidau prayer held in honor of the late king at the First Epe Central Mosque Oke-Balogun, prayed for divine strength and protection for the bereaved family and encouraged them to carry on the late king’s legacy of unity, kindness, and community development.

To the people of Epe, he urged: “Let’s continue in the path he laid for us, one of peace, love, and collective progress. That’s the best way to honour him and grow the Epe he so dearly loved.”

Oba Shefiu Adewale Bamgbopa Eshilokun I will be remembered as a monarch who ruled not just with authority, but with heart.
