Held at the Senator Tokunbo Abiru Mini Stadium today, Epe, the distribution exercise spanned 20 wards across Epe Local Government, Eredo LCDA, and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA. The event was designed to cushion economic pressures ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and was greeted with excitement by constituents from all walks of life, including youths, students, persons living with disabilities, market traders, and religious bodies.
Prominent APC stalwarts graced the occasion, including Hon. Sabiu Adelaja, Pa Oguntimehin, and Mrs. Stella Odudolapo Oladunjoye, who lent their voices in praising the initiative as a strategic and timely gesture.
Speaking during his welcome address, Hon. Dr. Olusegun Agbaje, Commissioner III at the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), described the outreach as “a well-coordinated program aimed at bringing direct relief to the people.” He highlighted Senator Abiru’s insistence on transparency, saying, “The Senator frowned at collection by proxy and thus made frantic efforts to strategically organize the program.”
Reinforcing this point, Hon. Shamsideen Onanuga stressed that the program was “deliberately planned to prevent disparity, complaints, and logistical hiccups.” Likewise, Former Eredo LCDA Chairman, Hon. Omolaja Adelaja noted the significance of beneficiaries to be present in person, adding, “This gesture is for those who truly need it, and we want to ensure it reaches them directly.”
Delivering the keynote address, Hon. Segun Olulade, Executive Director of Customer Centricity and Marketing at Galaxy Backbone Limited, applauded Senator Abiru’s consistent welfare drive. Olulade also linked the outreach to President Tinubu’s broader national policies, noting that “President Tinubu ensured the emergence of empathetic senators in Lagos, and what we see here today is a reflection of that vision.” He listed key presidential achievements, including exchange rate stabilization, fuel subsidy removal, the launch of the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and repayment of international debts, all aimed at restoring Nigeria’s economic stability.
On behalf of the youth and student community, Comrade Giwa Murtala Moore and Comrade Aleku jointly expressed gratitude, stating:

A market woman simply identified as Mama Rukayat said, “This food pack means my family can celebrate Ileya in peace.
