Anomo Pledges Full Scholarship for Top JAMB Performer in 2024: Education Initiative Unveiled

In a bold move aimed at championing education within the Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, kakalistiq.com reports that the Executive Chairman, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has vowed to grant full undergraduate and master’s scholarships to any resident or indigene who achieves the highest score in the 2024 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.

Addressing beneficiaries during the distribution of 500 JAMB UTME forms to indigent students in the LCDA on Monday, February 12th, 2024, Anomo emphasized the importance of seizing the opportunity presented by the free forms, particularly amidst prevailing economic challenges. He reiterated his unwavering commitment to ensuring that every individual, regardless of background, has the opportunity to succeed under his leadership.

In an interview, Anomo expressed the significance of his gesture as a means of repaying the trust bestowed upon him by the people at the polls. He stressed his dedication to serving the community with human-centric programs and initiatives aimed at transforming the LCDA into a beacon of progress and opportunity.

“This gesture of offering full scholarships to the top performer in the upcoming JAMB examination is not just about providing financial support for education; it’s about fulfilling a promise to the people who entrusted me with their mandate. I firmly believe that public service is a sacred duty, and I am committed to serving the residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA with unwavering dedication.

“By offering these scholarships, I aim to repay the faith placed in me by our community members. Education is the cornerstone of progress, and every individual deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams. I will stop at nothing to ensure that our youth have access to quality education and opportunities for personal growth,” he said.

Hon. Mustapha Hassan, the Leader of the House, encouraged beneficiaries to serve as exemplary ambassadors of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, emphasizing the importance of their academic achievements in bringing pride to the community. He also announced the upcoming Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Bursary Award, designed to provide financial support for higher education students.

The distribution of forms was made possible through collaborative efforts with various community-based organizations, including the Community Development Association (CDA), religious bodies, artisan groups, market associations, and traditional authorities. Over 300 beneficiaries have already been registered, with registration continuing to ensure the initiative’s goal of providing pathways for underprivileged residents to access higher education.

Mr. Sunday Awobajo, the Council Manager, commended the Chairman’s commitment to these noble educational interventions, highlighting their significance in empowering youth and urging beneficiaries to recognize the transformative power of education.

Mr. Balogun, HOD of Education and Library Services, underscored the LCDA’s educational objectives under Anomo’s leadership, urging beneficiaries to strive for academic excellence as a testament to the Chairman’s dedication to this commendable initiative.
