Kakalistiq.com reports that gaming mogul Hon. Kunle Soname (Bet9ja Chairman), lauded the organizers of the 17th Annual Idera Dee Ramadan Football Competition in Epe on Sunday, April 14, 2024, reiterating his commitment to continually partner with other organizations to entrench peaceful coexistence via football and other sports.
“There is no gainsaying, that this event is one of its kind in the Epe division. The entire division and beyond have always looked forward to this competition, which also coincides with the holy month of Ramadan. Also, to have held 17 editions of this special event is highly commendable. On this note, I give kudos to the Idera Dee Foundation under the tutelage of our very own amiable Hon. Segun Agbaje. God bless you, sir.”
In a rallying call, Hon. Soname urged corporate organizations, individuals, and stakeholders to invest in football and similar events to promote societal development. He thanked the Epe Divisional Football Association, the Epe Referees Association, and the leadership of the Epe Local Government under Princess Surah Animashaun for facilitating a peaceful environment for the tournament.
“The unity football brings among us all, whether indigenes, residents, visitors, and all sundry, cannot be overemphasised. Football unites all. I want to, therefore, call on all corporate organisations, well-meaning people, as well as stakeholders in our communities to invest in football in our society, especially in the aspect of organizing other beautiful competitions similar to this, facilities, and talent development.
“This will go a long way in making our society better in ways we can’t imagine. Conclusively, I appreciate the Epe Divisional Football Association, (EDFA), the body of Epe Referees, and most importantly, the Epe Local Government in general, under the chairmanship of Hon. Surah Animashaun, for creating a peaceful environment for this event. This is because no good thing thrives in a hostile setting,” he said.
Supporting local talent, the Bet9ja team gifted branded souvenirs to outstanding performers and organizers. Recreation FC emerged victorious, with Kingsley Denis of Noforija FC earning the Top Goalscorer award and Ogundimu Jamiu named MVP. Erepoto FC received recognition as the Most Disciplined Team, highlighting the competition’s commitment to fair play.
