COUNCIL SUPERVISOR FOR WORKS DISTRIBUTES EXERCISE BOOKS TO 1,200 PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS IN LAGOS.

In a commendable demonstration of community service and dedication to education, kakalistiq.com reports that Hon. Babatunde Yusuf, the Supervisor for Works in Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), distributed exercise books to 1,200 primary school pupils across four schools on Tuesday, 8th October 2024. The initiative, carried out in partnership with the Babatunde Yusuf Grassroot Foundation, aimed to support education and alleviate the financial burden on parents.

It was gathered that each pupil received five exercise books during the distribution, which took place at the following schools: Methodist Primary School, Agbowa; UPE Primary School, Odo-Ayandelu; UPE Primary School, Iganke and LG Primary School, Otta-Ikosi.

Hon. Babatunde Yusuf emphasized that this gesture was rooted in his belief in giving back to the community that has shaped his success. He noted that the initiative aligns with the educational and social welfare programs championed by the Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo-led administration of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.

 

According to him, the primary objective of the project was to complement the Chairman’s ongoing efforts in education and social welfare, especially given the economic challenges faced by many families. He explained that the provision of free exercise books would help ease the financial burden on parents while ensuring that pupils have the materials necessary to succeed in their studies.

 

The distribution exercise was met with appreciation from teachers, school administrators, and pupils. Many expressed their gratitude for the support, highlighting how the gesture would not only motivate the students but also significantly ease the financial strain on their families.
