Epe General Hospital Kicks Off World Blood Donors Week to Save Lives.
Kakalistiq.com reports that the Epe General Hospital is set to launch a major blood donation initiative during World Blood Donation Week, aiming to enhance the health and well-being of the local community. This announcement was made via the hospital’s official Facebook page, Epe General Hospital, where the management outlined the event’s schedule and participation guidelines.
Organized by the hospital’s Blood Transfusion Committee, the event will run from Friday, June 7, 2024, through Friday, June 14, 2024. The committee has invited all residents to participate in the blood donation drive at the hospital’s Laboratory Department, open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 p.m.
The week-long initiative will commence with hospital staff donations on June 7, followed by donations from market communities in Epe. Throughout the week, various groups are scheduled to participate, including religious organizations, community groups, and professional associations.
On Monday, June 10, participants will include members from the Redeemed Christian Church, the Odogbonle community, Rotaract members from Yabatech, Okada riders, and private groups. Tuesday, June 11, will see continued participation from the Odogbonle community and additional private groups.
The event will also feature the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) from Epe, who will join on Wednesday, June 12. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), and private donors will take part on Thursday, June 13. The initiative will conclude with the Ahmadiyya Muslim community on Friday, June 14.
The hospital encourages all eligible donors to come forward and contribute to this life-saving effort, emphasizing the critical importance of blood donations in supporting emergency medical care and surgeries.
The initiative, which aligns with the THEMES+ agenda of the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is a testament to the commitment and dedication of the hospital management towards saving precious lives through voluntary blood donation.
