Eredo LCDA Pledges Support as LASIEC Gears Up for 2025 Local Government Elections

In a crucial step toward the success of the 2025 local government elections, kakalistiq.com officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) paid a working visit to Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on March 4, 2025. The visit, led by LASIEC Chairman Justice Bola Okikiolu Ighile, aimed to strengthen collaboration with local authorities and ensure a seamless electoral process.

Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, was ably represented by Hon. Lateef Adesanya, who received the LASIEC delegation. Discussions centered on the commission’s preparations, election guidelines, and the role of the LCDA in facilitating pre-election activities. Justice Ighile reiterated LASIEC’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible election but emphasized the need for local government support to enhance voter participation and maintain transparency.

During the meeting, Justice Ighile introduced key members of her team, including the Eredo LCDA Electoral Officer, Mr. Habeeb Abiola Ashaka, who hosted the session. Hon. Lateef Adesanya, speaking on behalf of the LCDA chairman, assured LASIEC of the council’s full cooperation in ensuring a hitch-free election process.

As part of their visit, LASIEC officials inspected the nearly completed agency building within the LCDA to assess office spaces designated for their personnel. This assessment is part of ongoing efforts to ensure all logistical arrangements are in place ahead of the elections.

Since its inauguration by Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on January 10, 2025, LASIEC has been actively engaging with LGAs and LCDAs across the state, reinforcing partnerships to uphold a transparent and credible electoral process.
