Among these endorsements is the notable backing of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Chairman Akogun Wale Raji Anomo by seasoned grassroots politician and party stalwart Hon. Anthony Ajewole, who lauded Anomo’s leadership and service track record while urging constituents to support him for another four-year term.

Reflecting on Anomo’s unexpected rise in a statement made available to this news medium, Hon. Ajewole recounted, “The journey to the chairmanship began with the aspirations of our community leaders and voters. Initially, there was another candidate favoured, but as destiny would have it, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo was marked for greatness. God’s will prevailed, and Anomo emerged as our chairman in 2021.”

Ajewole, the Ikosi-Ejinrin APC LGA Secretary addressed early scepticism about Anomo’s capabilities, noting, “Some doubted him because he’s an educationist, but leadership isn’t about how long you’ve been in politics; it’s about making impactful decisions. Anomo has proven his critics wrong with unparalleled achievements that speak volumes of his commitment.”

Upon taking office as the fourth executive chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Anomo quickly identified the critical issues affecting the local government. He said, “You cannot solve problems without understanding their root causes.” His tenure has been marked by significant strides in improving electricity, education, health, agriculture, and tourism within the LCDA.

One of his notable achievements was resolving the longstanding issue of vacant traditional stools in the area. Hon. Ajewole highlighted, “Anomo’s dedication saw the installation of Barrister Saheed Owolabi Monson as the Abowa of Agbowa Ikosi on May 25, 2023, and HRM Oba Elias Omoloro Adedapo Ijelu as the Olota of Otta-Ikosi on May 31, 2021.”

He averred that Anomo has made substantial investments in education, including the construction of classroom blocks in primary schools across Otta-Ikosi, Agbowa, Itokin, and Ejinrin. He also facilitated the distribution of 800 JAMB forms since 2021 and awarded a ₦250,000 scholarship to Sofia Mohammed, the winner of the 2021 Lagos State Annual Spelling Bee Competition.

He asserted that the health sector saw the construction of a 24-bed Primary Healthcare Center in Itokin, the acquisition of two ambulances for a mobile clinic, and the distribution of 700 eyeglasses through the Jigi Anomo Alafia Tayo Health Initiative.

Concerning Infrastructure, Ajewole noted that Anomo’s administration embarked on significant projects, including road constructions with solar street lighting, the provision of boreholes with power generators across six wards, and the grading of 30 earth roads in selected communities.

He stressed further that his tenure is notable for the provision of new transformers to several communities and the installation of solar street lights in identified black spots, improving security and quality of life.

Regarding Tourism and Culture, he added that Anomo has supported numerous community celebrations and cultural festivals, while also promoting local tourism through strategic media coverage.

He finally cited the efforts of the administration to boost food security via the distribution of essential farm tools and fishing nets to local farmers and restructuring the local security outfit, Gbalule, enhancing community safety.

Ajewole called on residents to unite and support Anomo’s re-election bid, stating, “Anomo’s achievements have thrown opposition parties into political oblivion. His tolerance, generosity, and ability to unite warring factions within the APC have been instrumental in fostering peace and progress in Ikosi-Ejinrin.”

He concluded with a strong endorsement: “If Anomo is given a second term, I have no doubt he will transform Ikosi-Ejinrin into an investor’s paradise. His administrative prowess is unmatched, and we are fortunate to have such a dedicated leader.”

The upcoming election will determine whether Anomo’s vision for Ikosi-Ejinrin continues to unfold, as calls for continuity grow louder from both political leaders and the electorate.
