The former Vice-Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Hon. Abiodun Adebayo has restated his unwavering commitment to selfless service to humanity and community development, following an award of honour bestowed on him by the Rotary Club of Epe Metropolitan in recognition of his contributions to societal growth.

The award presentation formed part of activities at a Rotary Club of Epe Metropolitan event held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Rotary Vocational Training Centre, Odomola, Epe.
during the official visit of the District Governor, Rotary International District 9112, Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin.
Reflecting on the award, Hon. Abiodun expressed profound gratitude to the club, describing the recognition as both humbling and motivating. He noted that being honoured by Rotary International, a globally respected humanitarian organisation, was a privilege he does not take lightly.

“I give glory for being honoured among the multitude. I feel fortunate to be recognised by a reputable and respected international organisation like Rotary Club of Epe Metropolitan. They are intentional, reasonable and meticulous in selecting their honourees,” he said.
He added that although he was unaware of the criteria used in selecting him, the honour reaffirmed the importance of diligence, consistency and service to humanity.
“One has to be diligent in their endeavours especially when serving humanity, knowing fully well that tomorrow is not certain. I may not have known they were observing my efforts, but I have been touching lives. I sincerely appreciate this honour,” Hon. Abiodun stated.

He specifically commended the leadership of the club under its President, Rotarian Ademola Orelaja, assuring that the recognition would spur him to do more for his people and the larger society.
“I won’t relent in doing my best to serve my community and humanity. I will continue to do what I know is right for my people,” he pledged.

The Rotary event featured the donation of computer devices to students of Odomola Junior Secondary School, Odomola, Epe, aimed at promoting digital literacy and enhancing learning outcomes.
In further support of skills acquisition, the program witnessed the donation of sewing machines and various sewing materials to the Epe Vocational Training Centre, significantly boosting its operational capacity.

The occasion underscored Rotary International’s continued commitment to service above self and its growing impact on education, vocational skills and community development in Epe and its environs.
