Jubilee Chalets played host to an illustrious gathering of political dignitaries, royal fathers, and traditional chiefs, marking the occasion with grandeur and respect.
The event was graced by the presence of eminent royal figures, including the Oloja of Epe Land, HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, and the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, HRM Oba Dr. Babatunde Ogunlaja JP (FMBE). HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, the Oloja of Epe Land, extended heartfelt gratitude to all guests and well-wishers. He articulated the reasons behind bestowing the title of Apase of Epe Land on Alhaji Seriki Bamu, emphasizing his pivotal role in the division’s political landscape.
“He has steered the wheel of progress of Epe Division exceptionally. He has excellently and strategically fixed our sons and daughters in various political posts. Whenever it’s Epe’s turn, whatever belongs to us, he ensures that it’s brought home irrespective of the obstacles stemming from insults or any confrontation. That’s why we have this calibre of dignitaries here,” he stated.
Oba Animashaun highlighted Alhaji Seriki Bamu’s unwavering commitment to the APC, which has brought immense benefits to the Epe Division. “This informs the reason why I bestowed upon him the Apase of Epe Division, and since then, his political authority has not been questioned. Despite his imperfections, he has done his best for our sons and daughters. He’s a good political leader in this division whose influence cannot be pushed aside. He always stands firm in support of the party in Lagos,” he added.
HRM Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja JP FMBE, the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, shared personal anecdotes and acknowledged the occasional disagreements with the celebrant, rooted in their long-standing political relationship. Recalling memories from one of Alhaji Seriki Bamu’s fueling stations in Anthony, Lagos, Oba Ogunlaja praised the celebrant’s loyalty and leadership.
“We’ve been together in politics for a long time, and I know his ways. He’s such a person who loves his kinsmen, and whenever he stands by you, be assured that God has supported you. There’s no way a leader will lead without issues, but he possesses the magic wand to unite everyone and entrench peace,” he said.
