Epe Grammar School Alumni Celebrates Children’s Day with Inspirational Program.

In a remarkable display of leadership and commitment to academic and moral excellence, kakalistiq.com reports that Alhaja Olushola Alade-Raji, the President of the Epe Grammar School Old Students Association (EGOSA), inaugurated her tenure with the maiden edition of the Children’s Day celebration. Held on May 27, 2024, this event was a testament to the association’s dedication to fostering pride and ambition in the younger generation.

Alhaja Alade-Raji, in her welcome address, expressed excitement over the support from alumni members that made the celebration possible. She highlighted the importance of government support for schools and particularly appreciated Mr Abass Oladepo’s generous donation of 500 pieces of housewear, sanitary pads, and other essentials. She urged students to embrace the spirit of giving back.


“The day was set aside to show love and assurance that life is beautiful if focused and determined to achieve their dreams with dedication and commitment under the guidance of parents and teachers,” she said.


She emphasized the school’s significant contributions to national development, urging students to aspire to join the ranks of its distinguished alumni. Alhaja Alade-Raji reaffirmed the association’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for students through various interventions.

“Our expectation is to see you take this school to international standards. You should leverage what we are doing for a more robust transformation. We expect you to feel free, and liaise with the association on your welfare. We shall soon make forms available to reach out to you after graduation to keep in touch with your Alma Mater,” she added.

The program’s chairman, Otunba Dengel Anifowoshe, reminisced about his time at the school and praised the association’s leadership for instilling a sense of responsibility in the students. He acknowledged the school’s role in laying a solid foundation for his successful career and commended Rep. Wale Raji for the infrastructural improvements.

“I want to implore every one of you to be a good ambassador of this school. Celebrating children on an occasion like this has not happened before, and this innovation will leave a positive impact. We will all support her to ensure that she achieves all her intentions for our Alma Mater,” he said.

The event featured an enlightening lecture titled “Building A Bright Future: The Role of Education, Innovation, and Digital Skills” by Engineer Dr. Mary Adedoyin, a distinguished academic scholar and researcher at Lagos State University, Epe Campus. Dr. Adedoyin inspired the students by emphasizing the importance of education as the foundation for personal and societal development, and innovation as a tool for solving challenges and creating progress.

She urged the students to cultivate creativity and acquire digital skills such as graphic design, multimedia production, and video editing, rather than spending excessive time on social media. Dr. Adedoyin also stressed the importance of personal goal setting, time management, self-assessment, and maintaining a growth mindset.

The second session featured Mrs. Destiny Nkembemudu, CEO of the Nkembemudu Foundation. She shared her educational journey and the lessons she learned about the importance of self-discipline in achieving personal goals.

Various dignitaries, including Mrs. Mosunmola Adefuye from Education District III, Chief Iyabo Osifeso, the Erelu Oba of Epe Land, Hon. Balogun MA, and Hon. Adele, Epe LG Supervisor for Education, and representatives from Epe Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, attended the event.

Cultural and contemporary dance performances, drama, spoken word poetry, and other entertaining displays in Yoruba, English, and French enriched the celebration, making it a memorable occasion for all participants.
