Otunba Segun Agbaje’s Iconic Idera Dee Ramadan Football Championship Set to Kick Off in Lagos.
Kakalistiq.com reports that the 17th edition of the highly anticipated Idera Dee Ramadan Football Championship is all set to commence on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Salako Field, Epe. The annual event, organized by Otunba Hon. Olusegun Agbaje, Commissioner III of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), aims to foster cohesion, unity, peace, and skill development through football.
Otunba Olusegun Agbaje, speaking on the event’s significance despite the Ramadan period, emphasized its role in uniting communities and promoting positive values. The winners of the championship stand to claim prizes worth millions of naira, highlighting the stakes and excitement surrounding the tournament since its inception.
Dr. Adefuye Michael, heading the organizing committee, revealed that the Epe Division Football Association (EDFA) would officiate the football fiesta. The participating teams include Okebalogun/LASU, Recreation, Ibonwon, Noforija, Etitun, Temu, Erepoto, Salako, Popo Oba/Lagbade, Iraye, Papa, Poka, Iragunshi/Eredo, Eyindi Uraka, Oloja Estate, and Agbala Ojota.
The group stage fixtures are scheduled to begin at 12:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Group A features Etitun/Nitel, Papa, Poka, and Oke Balogun/LASU. Group B consists of Oloja Estate, Ibonwon, Agbala Ojota, and Erepoto. Group C includes Popo Oba/Lagbade, Recreation, Iraye, and Temu. Group D comprises Iragunshi/Eredo, Salako, Eyindi/Uraka, and Noforija.
