The just-concluded Lagos local government elections have brought good news for Engr. Owuye Surajudeen Oriyomi, the 2025 Chairmanship aspirant for Epe Local Government, who delivered a resounding victory at his polling unit in Ajagannabe Ward A5.
With the All Progressives Congress (APC) securing 329 votes against PDP’s 6 and Labour Party’s 4 in the chairmanship race, Owuye’s triumph was decisive. The councilorship poll in the same unit mirrored this trend, with APC clinching 291 votes.
“This win isn’t just mine, it’s the people’s victory,” an elated Owuye told reports. “The numbers show our community’s faith in progressive leadership, and I’m grateful for their trust.”
But the engineer-turned-politician wasn’t just celebrating his own success. He took time to congratulate Hon. Surah Olayemi Animashaun on her election as Epe’s new council boss, praising her as a “tested leader with the passion to deliver.”
“Hon. Animashaun’s victory is well-deserved,” Owuye said. “Her track record speaks volumes, and I’m confident she’ll take Epe to greater heights.”
Political observers say the election results signal strong APC dominance in the area, with both Owuye and Animashaun now expected to collaborate on grassroots development projects. As the dust settles on the polls, all eyes are on the new leadership to turn campaign promises into tangible results for Epe residents.
“This is just the beginning,” Owuye added. “The real work starts now.”
