Prominent Figures Gather to Honor Late Parents and Loyalist of Former Eredo LCDA Chairman

kakalistiq.com reports that a host of dignitaries gathered on Saturday to pay tribute to the late parents of Hon. Saliu, the immediate past Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), as well as his devoted supporter, Alhaja Ramotalah Bankole, who passed away in Makkah while performing the Holy Pilgrimage last year. The solemn event featured prayers for the eternal repose of their souls in janah.

The gathering saw the presence of key figures, including the current Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye; the Aladepekun of Odo-Egiri Kingdom, HRM Oba Musiliu Abiola Oliwo; APC Vice Chairman for Lagos East Senatorial District, Yeye Olayinka Olusanya; APC Apex Leader in Eredo LCDA, Mrs. Stella Odudolapo; CEO of HORLAG Gas Global Limited, Mr. Oladomeji Akinjobi, and several other notable personalities.

Delivering the event’s keynote lecture, Grand Mufty of Igbooye and Odoyangunshin, Fadeelat Sheikh I.O. Soliu, addressed the theme “Alhaja Ramotalah Bankole” and emphasized five key ways people unintentionally defy Almighty Allah. He highlighted arrogance toward God, failing to entrust plans to divine will, making absolute declarations about burial locations, placing humans above God’s will, and attributing natural occurrences—such as rainfall—to mere science rather than divine intervention.

Special prayers were offered for Hon. Saliu’s late parents, Alhaja Bankole, and the entire family, marking a moment of deep spiritual reflection.

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming turnout, Hon. Saliu attributed his continued relevance to the impact he made while in office and God’s grace. He also urged Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith beyond Ramadan, avoiding a return to sinful ways.

“All Muslims must remain committed to the good deeds they embraced during Ramadan. That is the only way to truly honor Almighty Allah and uphold His teachings,” said Hon. Saliu, who now serves as the Executive Director of LAGRIDE.

Chief Mrs. Awosoga, CEO of Onile Onile, also encouraged Muslims to maintain a responsible lifestyle, reminding them not to take the lessons of Ramadan for granted.

Meanwhile, the Conference of Community Youth Leaders (CCYL) lauded Hon. Saliu for his contributions to Eredo’s development. The group also expressed support for Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye’s second term, citing his administration’s achievements as exceeding expectations
