SSANU-LASUED Chairman Appointed Secretary of JAC for Lagos State-Owned Universities

Kakalistiq.com reports that excitement fills the air at the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Noforija, Epe campus, as Prince Comrade Ogunlari Adeyemi, Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU-LASUED), secures a prominent role. He has been appointed the Secretary of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) for Lagos State-Owned Universities.

Prince Comrade Ogunlari Adeyemi clinched this significant position at the recently concluded Annual Retreat for Union Leaders and Stakeholders in Lagos State. The retreat, which was organized by the Ministry of Establishment and Training, focused on “The Role Industrial Relations Play in Government.” It took place from Thursday, January 18th, to Sunday, January 21st, 2024, at Crow City Resort & Hotel, Agbara, Lagos.

The gathering included union leadership representatives from ASUU, SSANU, NAAT, and NASU across all state-owned universities in Lagos State, namely LASU, LASUED, LASUSTECH, and LASUCOMM.

In a bid to strengthen advocacy for the collective needs, aspirations, and interests of members, as well as the progress of the universities, the union reinstated the JAC Forum of the Universities’ Staff Unions. The Executive Committee was appointed to lead the JAC Forum’s leadership in the various universities within Lagos State and beyond.

The newly appointed executives for the JAC Forum in Lagos State-Owned Universities are as follows:

Comr. LAWAL Oluwaseyi: Chairman

Comr. FOLORUNSO-ODUNUGA J. O.: Vice Chairman

Comr. OGUNLARI O. Adeyemi: Secretary

Comr. Bello B. Dauda: Assistant Secretary

Congratulations are in order for Comrade Ogunlari and the entire Executive Committee. The resuscitation of the JAC Forum stands as a crucial step toward fostering a shared vision, unity, and collaboration among the unions for the betterment of all stakeholders and the academic community.
