In a grand celebration befitting a milestone, Prince M.O Adeyemi, popularly known as The Great Mercury, marked his 60th birthday by unveiling the Mercury Industrial Hub in Lekki and the Alhaja Nofiat Adetoun Adeyemi Central Mosque in Epe, Lagos State. The celebrant in an interview cited President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his late mother’s wishes as the driving inspiration behind the twin developments.

The Grand birthday celebration, held on Friday March 27th at The Jewel Aeida Hall in Lekki, Lagos, drew the crème de la crème of society and socialites from across the country, as guests rejoiced with the celebrant amidst pomp and pageantry.

Renowned Islamic scholars, Sheikh Dr. Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa (OON) and Fadeelatul Sheikh Abdulahi Arademi, served as guest speakers during the mosque unveiling in Epe. Adding regal grandeur to the event, revered royal father from across Lagos, Ekiti and Ogunde State were present, underscoring the harmonious blend of Islamic faith, human capital development, and tradition that framed the 60th birthday celebrations.

Speaking with pressmen on the sidelines, the humility-personified celebrant shared the personal motivations behind the occasion.
“The inspiration behind the mosque most especially is our mum. That’s what she really wanted and we worked it together before she was late. But unfortunately she wasn’t around to experience the unveiling. That was the big inspiration behind the mosque because she kept on urging us everyday to always be together while she was still alive. Well, we give thanks to Almighty Allah and may her soul rest in peace.”

On the industrial hub, Prince Adeyemi emphasized its people-centered focus:
“Mercury industrial hub which was launched today is for the masses, to create employment. Thank God for our President who believes in the growth of the local economy. We tend to use the hub to produce furniture so that we can export them outside the country instead of importing.”

Reflecting on the connection between national policies and local initiatives, he added:
“The moment President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came in and I saw his Renewed Hope Agenda that he has for the masses, I had to tap into the idea to create industrial hub for our people to create jobs, to ease the pains of the masses within the locality.”

On personal achievements at 60, the celebrant offered a humbling perspective:
“Success story at 60? I won’t say there’s any success story for now until we can elevate others while alleviating poverty, that’s when I can say I have a success story and by the grace of Almighty Allah, we will keep uplifting lives. You can’t measure your success story except when people around you testifies to your life-changing influence.”

Adding vibrancy to the occasion, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, KWAM 1, delighted guests with a thrilling fuji music performance, bringing the celebrations to a memorable close.
