Eredo LCDA Unveils Ambitious 2024 Budget Geared Towards Inclusive Development

Kakalistiq.com reports that the Executive Chairman of the Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has unveiled the LCDA’s ambitious 2024 budget, describing it as a strategic roadmap for inclusive development and good governance. The announcement came during a budget retreat aimed at initiating comprehensive planning for the fiscal year 2024 while implementing practical measures to enhance revenue generation for the LCDA.

Akinloye emphasized the importance of collective efforts to achieve the budget’s goals, emphasizing the need for developmental continuity. The Chairman highlighted the LCDA’s remarkable progress in infrastructural development, empowerment, health, environment, youth engagement, education, and staff welfare. While urging participants to focus on decisions that enhance the LCDA’s internally generated revenue (IGR) and economic fortunes.

“We have successfully lifted Eredo LCDA to an enviable status among its peers across the country with the help of Almighty God and your unwavering determination to implement core policies as displayed a few months into this new dispensation,” Akinloye averred.

Under Akinloye’s administration, Eredo LCDA has achieved significant milestones, including winning the “Cleanest Local Government in Lagos State (Sub-Urban Category) Award” from the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources. The council also received commendation from the Lagos State government as one of the best local governments in the region.

Expressing gratitude for the support received, Akinloye charged revenue officials to enhance their productivity and maximize the council’s income. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to executing viable projects that deliver the dividends of democracy to its residents.

Mr. Bolaji Bello, the Council Head of the Budget Department, highlighted the importance of the budget retreat in improving budget preparation and analysis for efficient government budget maximization. He expressed the department’s commitment to achieving the LCDA’s developmental goals.

The executives and management team of Eredo LCDA received commendations from procurement retreat facilitators, Dr. Abdulkareem Onakoya and Mr. Muyiwa Okesanya, for their leadership in early planning and effective developmental strategies. The budget facilitators underscored the significance of diligence among revenue officials, emphasizing that earned revenue serves as the engine for the sustainability of the public economy.

The retreat concluded with discussions on budget forecasts, revenue generation strategies, and the establishment of new goals to meet performance expectations.

The LCDA is poised for a transformative year, with the 2024 budget reflecting its commitment to inclusive development and economic prosperity.
