As Nigeria celebrates her 64th Independence Anniversary today, kakalistiq.com reports that the member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Wale Raji, has commended the resilience and unity of Nigerians, likening their determination to the sacrifices made by the nation’s forebears during the struggle for independence.
In a message to his constituents and the nation at large, Raji lauded the unwavering spirit of Nigerians, calling for sustained patriotism in the quest for national growth and unity.
Raji reflected on the bravery of Nigeria’s founding fathers, who fought for freedom from colonial rule and established the foundations of a prosperous nation. “Today, as we stand in the light of their achievements, let us reflect on their enduring legacy and the patriotic duties they have passed on to us,” he said.
The lawmaker emphasized Nigeria’s standing as the most populous black nation globally, highlighting the country’s vast human and natural resources. According to him, despite the challenges Nigeria faces, the nation’s diversity and unity are key strengths that will continue to drive progress. “Nigeria’s greatness will surely unveil itself as we continue to nurture and strengthen the values of patriotism, hard work, and national unity,” he remarked.
Hon. Raji further reminded Nigerians of the need for patience and perseverance in building a prosperous nation, drawing on the popular adage that “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” He acknowledged that while obstacles exist, the Nigerian spirit remains unbreakable. “Saboteurs and obstacles may exist, but the Nigerian spirit remains undaunted. We are a people known for our bravery, wisdom, and unwavering belief in a brighter future,” Raji said, urging citizens to remain focused on fostering peace and unity.
The lawmaker also expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, commending the president for taking decisive action to pave the way for long-term national prosperity through bold economic policies. He urged Nigerians to be patient, as the benefits of these reforms would soon become evident. “Though painful at this time, these policies are critical to achieving sustainable progress for all Nigerians,” he noted.
