Ibeju-Lekki Chairman Unveils “Budget of Developmental Growth” with Focus on Key Sectors.

Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area, presented the eagerly awaited budget, aptly tagged “Budget of Developmental Growth, Wealth Creation, and Fiscal Sustainability,” to the Legislative Arm of the Council.

The unveiling marked a pivotal moment as the administration aims to channel renewed energy toward achieving, rebuilding, and restoring the overall development of Ibeju Lekki.

Acknowledging the significance of the budget, Hon. Olowa emphasized its alignment with the administration’s steadfast commitment to the vision outlined in the development plan since its inception. The budget, crafted under the theme of global goal achievement, embodies the administration’s dedication to impactful and visionary governance.


Hon. Mojeed Oluwafemi Olayinka, the leader of the Legislative Council, received the budget and underscored the constitutional duty of the legislature to scrutinize and review the executive arm’s financial plan. He assured a thorough examination of the budgetary details, pledging swift passage in line with legislative oversight functions.

The 2023 budget showcased notable performance, strategically allocating resources across key sectors. Personnel costs, covering teachers, non-pensionable employees, and political office holders, were meticulously addressed. Overhead costs, representing day-to-day Council activities, and capital expenditure for project financing, asset maintenance, and payment of payables were integral components of the budget. The administration’s commitment to economic development, infrastructural development, social development, security, and environmental sustainability was evident in the allocations across these sectors.


The budget presentation drew the attendance of prominent figures, including Hon. Oladele Ajayi, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ibeju Lekki Constituency 2, Councillors, Traditional Rulers, Supervisors, and the Council Management.
