Chief S. O. Bakare, Chairman, Oluwalogbon Group of Companies and Babalaje of Ijebu Land Commends Wale Raji for Outstanding Performance.

kakalistiq.com reports that the Babalaje of Ijebuland, Chief S.O. Bakare, has lauded Rep. Wale Raji for his dedication to educational development and infrastructural growth in Epe Federal Constituency, describing him as “a son in whom I am well pleased.”

Speaking yesterday at the commissioning of two blocks of six classrooms at Adesonwon Secondary School, Ilara-Eredo, facilitated by Rep. Raji, Chief Bakare emphasized the importance of education in societal advancement.

“I have always valued education as the only way out of penury and human subjugation,” he stated. “Education liberates the mind, but it must be practical and skill-based. As the Yoruba saying goes, Iwe kiko laisi oko ati ada, k ipe o – education without technical skills is incomplete.”

Chief Bakare, represented by his daughter, Mrs. Remi Odunsi, called for a curriculum reform that integrates vocational and technical training from the elementary level. He urged policymakers to take inspiration from global models, such as China’s emphasis on early skill development.

“I do not see any reason why our students cannot make their own furniture, paint their classrooms, sew their uniforms, and even assemble electronic devices. Technical education is the key to technological advancement, especially in this digital age,” he said.

The Babalaje commended Rep. Wale Raji for his exemplary performance in the House of Representatives, particularly his efforts in education, healthcare, skill acquisition, and entrepreneurship development.

“Honourable, you have shown immense love and empathy for your constituents,” he remarked. “Your contributions are evident everywhere – in education, as we see today; in healthcare, ensuring a healthy community; and in economic empowerment, where you have taught our youth to fish rather than giving them fish.”

Chief Bakare also highlighted Raji’s role in facilitating market upgrades, fostering trade, and ensuring commercial viability in the constituency. He praised the lawmaker for making history by securing an unopposed third-term tenure, a feat unprecedented in Epe Federal Constituency.

“Your outstanding performance has earned you the trust of traditional rulers, elders, men, women, and youth alike,” he noted. “You made my task easy and made me proud. Those of us who anointed your candidacy from the beginning have no regrets. Indeed, you are a son in whom I am well pleased.”

In his concluding remarks, Chief Bakare urged political leaders in Lagos State to emulate Rep. Raji’s dedication to community development.

“At the end of your tenure, you will only be remembered for the infrastructure and good works you have done for your people,” he advised. “East or West, home is best. I hope other political officeholders will follow your example in selfless service to the people.”

He assured Raji of continued prayers and support, expressing optimism that his leadership journey was only at its beginning.

With that, Chief Bakare officially commissioned the classroom blocks, dedicating them to the glory of God and the benefit of students in the community.
