In a demonstration of their unwavering commitment to the welfare of vulnerable households, Kakalistiq.com reports that the Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and the Lagos State Government joined forces to distribute food relief packs to 1,000 families at the Council Secretariat earlier today. Spearheaded by the Executive Chairman, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, the initiative aligns with the directive of Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to mitigate the hardships residents face during challenging times.
Beneficiaries were carefully selected from various segments of the community, including community-based organizations, traditional authorities, religious bodies, artisans, market associations, security agencies, people living with disabilities, youth organizations, and more.
In his address, Hon. Sylvester Oluwadahunsi Ogunkelu, representing Epe Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr. Hamzat, and Speaker Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa for their steadfast leadership.
Highlighting the successful synergy between the Legislature and the Executive, Ogunkelu praised the effective governance that has resulted from this collaboration. He also commended the Local Government Chairmen, particularly Akogun Wale Anomo, for their dedication to the welfare of their constituents.
Addressing the gathering, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo underscored the government’s responsibility to alleviate the suffering of its residents during times of economic hardship. He expressed profound gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Hamzat for their tireless efforts in improving the welfare of Lagosians.

He also mentioned the recent support provided to members of the League of Imams and Alfas and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), including a cash gift of 10,000 naira to some beneficiaries.
Looking ahead, Anomo reaffirmed his commitment to aligning with the THEMES plus agenda of Governor Sanwo-Olu and the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu. He assured residents that the LCDA is actively complementing the efforts of the state government across various sectors.
“We are assuring the people that our eyes are on the ball, they should be a little bit patient with the government of APC both at the federal and state levels. As regards the local level, they should rest assured that we are complementing the job of Mr Governor in education, health, sports, and other social amenities,” he stated.
Regarding the distribution process, Anomo explained that beneficiaries were selected from each of the six political wards in the LCDA, ensuring representation from key stakeholder groups.
In his Ramadan message, Anomo called for steadfast support to continue changing the narrative for the betterment of all residents in the LCDA. Recipients expressed gratitude for the relief efforts, offering prayers for the LCDA, Lagos State, and Nigeria as a whole.
