In a bid to strengthen community ties and provide support during challenging economic times, kakalistiq.com reports that members of the Tobun 4Real Team, a socio-political group rallying behind Lagos State Lawmaker Hon. Abiodun Tobun, organized the inaugural Food Barn Scheme distribution exercise at the Constituency Office on Sunday, December 10th, 2023.
In attendance were prominent figures, including All Progressive Congress LGA Chairman Hon. Toin Gbadamosi, Pastor Segun Oluade (Segson), Hon. Bola Iberu, and Mr. Babatunde Abdullahi, alongside other team members.
Prince Wale Idowu, the Coordinator of the Tobun 4Real Team, shared in an interview that the Food Barn Scheme was initiated to assist the group’s members. Established to showcase the leadership prowess of Hon. Abiodun Tobun, the group aims to dispel misconceptions about the lawmaker’s role, emphasizing that his primary duties are focused on lawmaking.
Idowu highlighted the team’s commitment to the welfare and enlightenment of their leader’s legislative activities. The Food Barn, funded by personal contributions from the 15 Apex Leaders, distributed the staple food “Garri Ijebu” to 45 members each across the 8 wards in the constituency during its maiden edition.
“The team focuses on the welfare and enlightenment of the lawmaking activities of our leader, Hon. Abiodun Tobun. Harmonious working relationships and bonding with our members are what we seek to establish.
“The Food Barn Scheme was conceived and executed with the personal contribution of the 15 Apex Leaders of the team to support members, especially with the economic hardship in the country. Rather than erecting boreholes, which have almost gone around across wards in the constituency, we decided to share the most important staple food, “GarriIjebu,” for our members,” he said.
The Coordinator revealed that plans are underway for a year-end celebration on December 27, 2023, as a demonstration of solidarity with their members. The Tobun 4Real Team aims to continue the Food Barn initiative with additional food items in February 2023, extending support to members across all wards.
