Kakalistiq.com reports that the event served as a powerful platform for empowering women in the Epe Local Government Area, bringing together the wives of council helmsmen and executive chairmen from across the state.
The LASCCWA president, Mrs. Ajala, expressed her appreciation for the chairmen’s unwavering support and provided insight into the association’s objectives.
“We are a group of 57, some residing abroad. Ideally, we should convene monthly, but due to various reasons, we couldn’t hold the meetings regularly. In every local government we visit, our focus is on a brief meeting and the empowerment program,” she stated.
“We gather to support our fellow women across the 57 local governments, by the grace of God. We conducted an empowerment program three months ago, and we plan to make it an annual occurrence, God willing.
“The primary goal of this empowerment program is to alleviate the challenges posed by the country’s hardships and to complement the efforts of your government. We can’t achieve this without your love, support, and encouragement. So, we are like Oliver Twist; we are not entirely satisfied, but we believe that whatever you do for us, we will utilize it for the benefit of humanity. Thank you very much,” she concluded.
Mrs. Sijuade Anomo, Chairperson of Ikosi Ejirin, emphasized in her address the importance of the women empowerment program, aligning it with the commitment of council administrations across the state. She expressed the need to give back to the electorate who supported their husbands through the voting process.
Epe Local Government Council Chairman Princess Surah Animashaun commended the tireless efforts of the chairpersons, especially highlighting the contributions of Mrs. Ismail Oyinloluwa and Mrs. Sijuade Anomo in making the program a success.
The generous distribution of working tools and essential items, including grinding machines, popcorn frying machines, tailoring machines, gas cylinders, and food items, amounted to millions of naira. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support and materials provided.
The event showcased a strong resolve to pool resources together for benevolent acts of giving, highlighting unity and generosity among the council chairmen’s wives.
