Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Hosts Stakeholders’ Forum to Shape 2025 Budget

In a steadfast commitment to community engagement, kakalistiq.com reports that Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) held a Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, to discuss the proposed 2025 budget. The forum, held at the LCDA Secretariat in Agbowa, attracted a diverse group of attendees representing various sectors and communities across the LCDA.

According to a statement released by Areh AbdulHamid O., Chief Press Secretary of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, the HOD Budget and Planning, Mrs. Aremu Olufunmilayo Grace, welcomed guests and emphasized the importance of the forum, assuring them of proper documentation of their inputs to form the 2025 budget.

Executive Chairman Akogun Wale Raji Anomo presented highlights of the LCDA’s achievements, attributing an 87% performance of the 2024 appropriation to proactive and inclusive engagements through similar stakeholders’ forums. “Our administration focuses on sustainable development, infrastructure, and resident welfare as top priorities,” Anomo stated.

The forum facilitated an open exchange of ideas and feedback from stakeholders, covering key areas such as infrastructure improvement, mobility, and enhanced welfare for residents. Anomo expressed appreciation for the stakeholders’ support and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve community objectives, pledging to uphold transparency and inclusivity in governance.

“All stakeholders who spoke at the event acknowledged the Chairman’s positive impact in the last three years and openly called for support to enable him to continue his good work for another term,” Areh noted. Stakeholders also made specific requests for areas to be addressed in the 2025 budget, ensuring the LCDA’s ongoing development.

A significant milestone was marked at the event as five Traditional Chiefs/Baales were presented with letters of Gazette by the Chairman, further strengthening traditional leadership within the communities.

The event saw the presence of key figures, including prominent royal fathers such as HRM Oba Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom; HRM Oba Adedapo Elias Omoloro, the Olota of Otta-Ikosi; and HRM Oba Nelson Obayomi Ogunlari, the Olowu of Owu-Ikosi, among others who were duly represented.

Also in attendance were Vice Chairman Alhaji Wasiu Dehinsilu, Executive Cabinet members, Councillors led by Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi, Council-Manager Mr. Sunday Awobajo, SSA to the Lagos State Governor on Technical and Vocational Education Com. Giwa Muritala Omotola, Party chieftains, Gazetted Chiefs, Baales, Security Chiefs, CDC/CDA Executives, Religious leaders, and other notable stakeholders.
