Lawmaker Honors Governor Sanwoolu’s Initiative with Constituency Support, Hails Obasa’s Mentorship.

Mudashiru Obasa for their concerted efforts in uplifting the lives of constituents.

At the Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA today, Saturday, April 6, 2024, Hon. Ogunkelu orchestrated the distribution of cash and food items to constituents, echoing his commitment to alleviating the economic hardships faced by his constituency amidst prevailing challenges. The event, held at the Ikosi-Ejirin council Secretariat, witnessed the presence of council officials, ward chairmen, community leaders, CDC/CDA representatives, and the entire populace of Ikosi-Ejirin.

Acknowledging Governor Sanwoolu’s people-centric approach to governance, Hon. Ogunkelu lauded the Governor’s food palliative initiative aimed at easing economic burdens. Additionally, he praised Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa for advocating for lawmakers to directly impact their constituencies through budgetary allocations for critical infrastructure development.

Expressing gratitude to Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Obasa for his guidance and support, Hon. Ogunkelu emphasized the importance of lawmakers engaging with their constituents to ensure tangible impacts of representation. He highlighted previous distributions to ward executives and party loyalists, emphasizing the significance of grassroots engagement.

“I want to use this medium to thank my boss, Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Obasa, for allowing me to have the notice earlier. He was the one who advised me that lawmakers should go back to their constituencies and let the people feel the impact of their representation. He is a good leader; he is a good boss. We started with the distribution of palliatives to the Ward Excos, close to 400, the 55 delegates and over 600 party loyalists were captured in the past editions,” he stated in an interview.

Asserting the timeliness of the palliative measures, Hon. Ogunkelu commended the President’s efforts in addressing currency devaluation, which has contributed to rising living costs and inflation. He reaffirmed his commitment to facilitating infrastructural projects, citing road constructions facilitated through legislative provisions.

Addressing political stakeholders, Hon. Ogunkelu underscored the need for internal cohesion and loyalty within the party for sustainable growth. He advocated for support for Hon. Wale-Raji Anomo’s re-election bid as chairman of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, citing his exemplary performance in office.

In response, beneficiary Mrs. Emmanuel Elizabeth Arike expressed gratitude for Hon. Ogunkelu’s efforts, highlighting the positive impact on the community. She extended her appreciation to the governor and prayed for continued success in their endeavours.
