Kakalistiq.com reports that the concerted efforts of the wives of Lagos State Council chairmen towards empowering grassroots women have earned commendations from the trio of Epe, Ikosi-Ejinrin, and Eredo LCDA executives.
The recent edition of Lagos State Council Chairmen’s Wives Association’s (LASCCWA) monthly Women’s Empowerment Programme, hosted at the Epe Local Government Secretariat on November 30th, 2023, garnered support and commendation from the Executive Chairman of Epe, Hon. (Princess) Surah O. Animashaun, alongside Akogun Olawale Raji Anomo, Executive Chairman, Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, and Hon. Monsuru Akinloye, Executive Chairman, Eredo LCDA.
Participants in the event witnessed the distribution of various empowerment tools to beneficiaries, including industrial grinding machines, gas cylinders, popcorn machines, and sewing machines. This initiative, designed to uplift the less privileged and women across all local governments in Lagos State, continues to impact communities positively.
Hon. (Princess) Surah Animashaun expressed pride in the commitment of the association, stating, “It is a thing of pride to see forward-thinking women who maximize the positions they occupy to make a positive impact and contributions towards the development of their communities.”
In an interview with the media, Hon. Anomo, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Lagos State Council Chairmen’s Wives Association (LASCCWA) for selecting Epe as the venue for their recent meeting. Recognizing the approaching festive season, he emphasized the crucial need to support women during this period, stating, “We all know that the yuletide is near, and our women need our support. Hence, these materials and utensils will make them happy.”
Hon. Akinloye Ismail, Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, echoed sentiments of gratitude, attributing the success of the event to divine providence. He emphasized the significance of supporting wives, especially during the festive season, saying, “I give thanks to Allah for making today a success. Our wives are our pride. We all have to support them, particularly this festive season.”
He extended commendations to the LASCCWA president for her outstanding initiatives towards the development of the association and women in the state. The association was praised for its brilliant contributions to the welfare and progress of women in Lagos.
