In a decisive move towards realizing the agenda of his administration and aligning with the THEMESplus agenda of the Lagos State Government, kaklistiq.com reports that Hon. Sesan Olowa, Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, spearheaded two significant strides that underscored the commitment to environmental sustainability and infrastructural development.

Hon. Sesan Olowa

On Friday, March 23rd, 2023, members of the Ibeju Lekki Environmental Task Force executed a targeted operation, apprehending 21 individuals caught red-handed dumping waste along the Lekki-Epe Expressway at Abijo, Awoyaya, and Lakowe. The swift action resulted in fines for the offenders, with those unable to pay contributing to community services. This robust enforcement strategy aims to deter future violations and foster a culture of environmental responsibility among residents.

In a statement regarding his involvement in enforcing environmental regulations, Chairman Olowa emphasized the paramount importance of ensuring a clean and safe environment for all residents. His proactive approach, which includes personally confronting offenders, demonstrates a deep-rooted dedication to upholding environmental standards and promoting cleanliness within the local government. This initiative, he said, also aligns with and supports the Cleaner Lagos Initiative of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment, reinforcing collaborative efforts towards a cleaner and healthier environment for all.

Earlier in the week, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa engaged with community leaders and residents of Ayeteju, Onidogbo, Ofiran, Igando Oloja, and neighbouring communities, promising accelerated infrastructural development. The palpable excitement among residents reflects the anticipation of imminent progress, especially with the imminent completion of two culverts and the anticipated state government intervention in drainage systems.

Hon. Olowa’s comprehensive engagement with communities and his administration’s proactive stance on environmental enforcement and infrastructural development signals a promising future for Ibeju-Lekki Local Government. The strides made under his leadership are poised to enhance the quality of life for residents while contributing to the broader vision of sustainable growth and development in Lagos State.
