Sesan Olowa’s Educational Revolution Shines Bright as Schools Sweep 2023 Inter-School Debate Competition.

In a resounding display of academic prowess and intellectual excellence, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government schools have emerged triumphant in a spectacular showdown at the 2023 debate competition, thanks to the visionary leadership of Engineer Hon. Sesan Olowa.

Kakalistiq.com is thrilled to report that students from Ibeju Community Senior, Elemoro Community Junior, and Community Primary School Lakowe have clinched victory in the senior, junior, and primary school divisions of this prestigious event.

In a fiercely contested Primary School category, Tsangaya Primary School secured the 3rd position, with RCM Primary School claiming the 2nd spot. However, it was the brilliant debaters from CPS Primary School, Lakowe, who took home the coveted 1st place trophy.

Moving on to the Junior Schools Category, Debojo Community Junior School proudly secured the 3rd position, while Iwerekun Community School clinched the 2nd spot. But it was the students from Elemoro Community School who soared to victory, landing firmly in the 1st position.

The Senior School category witnessed an intellectual clash of titans, with Iwerekun Senior Secondary School achieving an impressive 3rd place. Magbon Alade Senior Secondary School claimed the 2nd position, but the crowning glory went to Ibeju Senior Secondary School, basking in the glory of their 1st place victory.

As a fitting reward for their outstanding performances, the first-place winners in the senior, junior, and primary school divisions each received substantial cash prizes of ₦200,000.00, ₦150,000.00, and ₦100,000.00, respectively, while the 2nd and 3rd place winners were honored with consolation prizes.

The 2023 Debate and Quiz Competition, which commenced with thrilling preliminary rounds weeks ago, showcased the brilliant minds of students from various primary, junior, and senior secondary schools, who battled their way to the grand finale.

In his opening address, the dynamic council mayor, Engr. Sesan Olowa extended a warm welcome to all participating schools and distinguished guests. He highlighted the significant strides made by his administration in the realm of education over the past two years. Mayor Olowa also emphasized the positive impact of the annual competition on students’ scholastic achievements and commended Pan Atlantic University (PAU) for its role in nurturing educational excellence through initiatives like STEM programs and weekend Extra Coaching Classes for Science Students.

Mayor Olowa encouraged participants to give their best in the competition and gracefully accept the outcomes, offering his best wishes for their success.

Hon. Ogungbo Sofwan Temitope, the Supervisor for Education, provided a recap of the inaugural edition of the competition, emphasizing the vital role played by the Education Department in achieving these remarkable academic feats.

Dignitaries and notable figures graced the occasion, including the Representative of Hon. Bayo Balogun (MHR), Prince Samsideen Elemoro, Legislative Members, Supervisors, Special Advisers, and esteemed representatives from various sectors. Their presence bore witness to the community’s commitment to fostering excellence in education.
