Heroic Rescue: So-Safe Corps Engages in Gun Battle to Save Abducted Woman, Arrests Syndicate Member

In a courageous operation, the So-Safe Corps successfully rescued a woman who had fallen victim to suspected kidnappers. During the operation, a fierce exchange of gunfire took place, leading to the freedom of the victim and the apprehension of Tunde Salami, a 32-year-old member of the syndicate from Ibadan, Oyo State.

Kakalistic.com gathered that the incident occurred on July 13 around 8:00 PM when the victim encountered her abductors while returning home from the market. The criminals seized her possessions, including her phone, gold jewelry, N100,000 in cash, and an ATM card. Subsequently, they forcefully drove her away in her own vehicle.

Upon receiving a distress call at the So-Safe Corps headquarters, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, the State Commander, assigned the Ijebu Zonal Commander, ACC Marcus Ayankoya, with the critical task of rescuing the victim and bringing the kidnappers to justice.

Despite facing logistical challenges, the determined team, as stated in a press release by AC Moruf Yusuf, the Corps’ Director of Information and Public Relations, tirelessly pursued the kidnappers. A breakthrough came when the team received information about suspicious footprints discovered on farmland at Oke-Ako Community in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.

Responding swiftly, Ganzallo instructed SC Aderibigbe M.O, the Isiwo/Itamapako Divisional Officer of the Corps, to assemble and lead a special squad to confront the suspected kidnappers decisively.

“The kidnappers were tracked down after a rigorous and intensive search, just as they were about to relocate the victim,” declared the Commander. He further revealed that a fierce shootout ensued, resulting in the successful repulsion of the criminals and the subsequent arrest of Tunde Salami. Additionally, a locally-made pistol was recovered from Salami during the operation.

Fortunately, the victim, though traumatized, emerged unharmed from her harrowing ordeal.

Both the suspect and the victim have now been transferred to the Obalende Divisional Police Headquarters in Ijebu-Ode, where further investigations will be conducted to shed light on the incident.
